The new ŠKODA Connect system makes the RAPID a fully interconnected car. ŠKODA Connect consists of three service packages. The Infotainment Online package delivers completely new information and navigation services, while the Care Connect package lets you control certain vehicle functions with your smartphone (Remote Access) and provides a connection to the service partner of your choice (Proactive Service). The third service, an integral part of ŠKODA Connect, is Emergency Call.
ŠKODA RAPID offers a new application which uses Wi-Fi technology and allows rear-seat passengers to access Amundsen navigation infotainment system features with their tablet or smartphone. With the ŠKODA Media Command app, you can display system components on the tablet or smartphone and conveniently operate individual functions via the app.
Your car and smartphone are now in perfect sync. With the SmartLink+ system, your infotainment display will mirror the information from your smartphone. All installed applications certified as safe for vehicles are compatible with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto/MirrorLinkTM.
With the SmartGate interface, you can connect your smartphone or tablet to your car to read interesting data from the vehicle’s systems, such as driving economy, driving dynamics or service information.
The hands-free system guarantees ease and safety of telephone use while driving. The Bluetooth unit also facilitates A2DP audio streaming and can maintain two simultaneous Bluetooth wireless connections. With the Amundsen infotainment system, you can also read, write and send text messages (SMS) via the touchscreen.
The option to connect external multimedia players and memory devices (USB sticks) via the linear Aux-In (3.5mm jack) or the USB connector is standard with a ŠKODA radio.
Want to have your audio device always at hand yet hidden from view? The Amundsen infotainment navigation system can now play your favourite tracks from an SD card. The slot on the side of the glove box can read SD, SDHC and SDXC cards. In the Blues and Swing, the SD card slot is on the infotainment system’s front panel.
