A sense of safety and enjoyment

The Škoda Superb excels thanks to its wide range of active and passive safety elements, including some new advanced technical features that provide maximum protection for all passengers.

The safety credentials of the Superb have been tried and tested by the independent assessors Euro-NCAP.  Euro-NCAP provides a realistic and independent assessment of the safety performance of some of the most popular cars sold in Europe. You will be delighted to know that the Superb obtained the maximum five stars.

Airbags are an integral part of vehicle safety. The Škoda Superb is fitted with seven airbags. Driver and front passenger airbags and side airbags protect front seat passengers while Head airbags work like a curtain to protect all occupants from side impacts, the Superb has also got a knee airbag to further protect the driver.

Bi-xenon headlights with AFS and integrated telescopic head lamp washers provide optimum night time visibility while under hard braking the Superb will activate the warning lights automatically to alert trailing drivers and provide them with more reaction time that could in turn avert a rear collision.

Disc brakes on all wheels combined with a wide range of electronic monitoring systems ensure excellent stability and control of the Superb on an array of surfaces.

Standard system features include ESP (electronic stability program) with EDL (electronic differential lock) combined with HBA (hydraulic brake assist) to provide safe cornering, handling and braking. These systems also encompass the more familiar ABS (anti lock brakes) and ASR (traction control).

Bi-Xenon headlamps
Bi-xenon headlights with AFS (Adaptive Front light System) automatically adapt to provide the most favorable lighting situation. By accessing the vehicles speed, the lights will adjust to motorway or town driving and by assessing the vehicles steering the lights will swivel left to right to illuminate corners and bends with precision. The system is also clever enough to detect rain and adjust the lighting as not to dazzle oncoming traffic.
Driver knee airbag
The driver’s knee airbag is a new safety feature in Škoda vehicles. It is located under the steering column and reduces the risk of injury to the lower limbs during a head-on collision.
Parking Assistant
The parking assistant makes parallel parking easy. With the push of a button the parking assistant using sensors in the side of the vehicle will assess whether there is sufficient space to park. Then the driver simply selects reverse and controls the speed of the vehicle as normal while the system will take care of the steering.
Multifunctional steering wheel
The multifunctional steering wheel provides comfort and control over your radio and mobile telephone.  If you have a DSG automatic transmission you can also change gears conveniently via paddles on the steering wheel.
