Maximum feeling of safety in the new Fabia Combi

Safety and security in a vehicle is crucial for your family. You will be pleased to know that the new Fabia Combi provides the most modern active and passive safety features for the safety of all occupants.

As with the Fabia in the hatchback version, ŠKODA Auto has incorporated a high level of safety features in the new Fabia Estate. With its extensive tried and tested modern safety systems both you and your passengers can be transported with style and driving confidence.

The new Fabia Combi has several new safety elements. The obvious passive features include Driver and Passenger Airbags across the range while the Active and Elegance models have curtain or head airbags as standard. All Fabia Combi versions have side airbags for protection against side impacts. For families with young children who would like to mount a baby chair (rear facing) in the front passenger seat we have installed a feature that will allow you to temporarily disable the front passenger airbag. For children in the rear - all rear seats in the ŠKODA model range are prepared for mounting children’s seats using the ISOFIX fitting system.

We have even gone as far as considering the safety of people in our community. The Front bonnet and the front bumper have been designed in such a way as to limit injuries to pedestrians upon impact.

The driver is often oblivious to the active safety features that are continuously monitoring every driving situation. The various features include  Anti- Wheel Spin Regulation System (ASR) better known as Traction Control, Electronic Differential Lock (EDS), which can be combined with Electronic Stability Program (ESP)*, Dual Rate Brake Assistant and Tyre Pressure Monitoring system (TPM)* All these features work harmoniously with the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). For those tight parking situations Parking sensors* will provide you with even more confidence.

Head airbags

After activation the head airbag creates a wall along the side section of the interior to protect both front and rear passengers from serious injury.

Headlights

The projector halogen headlights have undergone technical and design changes. For full beam there is now an independent reflector on the internal side of the headlight, while dipped beam is provided by a projector module. The optically active surface of the headlights has been increased improving road illumination.

In the event of an accident

In the event of an accident the hazard lights and inside lights will automatically come on. The central locking system will unlock all doors, the fuel pump will turn off and the fuel supply from the fuel tank will be cut to reduce the risk of fire.

Protection of pedestrians

The Fabia respects the EU’s new directives on protecting pedestrians (Phase 1). In case of a collision with a pedestrian, the risk of injury is now far lower due to the adequate distance between the bonnet and fixed parts in the engine area, the adjusted design of the front bumper and the addition of new parts reduce the force of impact and in turn greatly reducing injury to the pedestrian.
