Safety for you and those around you

Safety is paramount for both you and your family. At Škoda we have put great time and effort ensuring the Fabia delivers all the comfort and safety you could possibly desire.

The Fabia's excellent handling and road holding are among the basic fundamentals for a safe drive helping the driver maintain control and avoid dangerous situations should they arise.

The time-tested construction of the chassis, optimally tuned suspension and electro-hydraulic power steering ensure that the car is easy to handle in all types of situations. All Fabia’s come with ABS with Dual-Rate power assisted brakes and MSR engine brake torque regulator to provide fast and controlled braking. You can also opt to have an ASR traction control system or ESP (Electronic Stability Program) fitted to your Fabia. If you choose TPM, (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) it will alert you if a wheel starts to deflate.

In the unlikely event of a collision, the Fabia has deformation zones in the chassis that are optimally designed and are fortified with robust side reinforcements. Driver and front passenger airbags as well as side airbags are standard package. ISOFIX child seat mountings are located in the rear outer seats. These fittings secure an ISOFIX prepared child seat to the chassis of the vehicle.

Head airbags

Head airbags fitted to the Sport & Elegance models form a “wall” across the entire side of the interior, thus protecting front and rear passengers from serious injury.

Turning headlights

Instead of a reflective surface, the projector headlights use a lens to disperse light, similar to those of a xenon type light. Curve projector headlights (optional) turn from side to side as you turn the steering wheel.

Accident

In the event of an accident the hazard lights and inside lights will automatically come on. The central locking system will unlock all doors, the fuel pump will turn off and the fuel supply from the fuel tank will be cut to reduce the risk of fire.

Protection of pedestrians

The Fabia respects the EU’s new directives on protecting pedestrians (Phase 1). In case of a collision with a pedestrian, the risk of injury is now far lower due to the adequate distance between the bonnet and fixed parts in the engine area, the adjusted design of the front bumper and the addition of new parts reduce the force of impact and in turn greatly reducing injury to the pedestrian.
