Start-Stop system saves fuelThe Start-Stop system, which switches on automatically after the engine starts, will be most appreciated by drivers in the city. If the driver stops, for example at a crossroads or in a traffic jam, puts the car in neutral and takes his foot off the clutch, the engine switches itself off. As soon as the driver depresses the clutch, the engine starts again. In this way it is possible to save 0.2 to 0.4 l/100km in a combined regime and up to 0.3 to 0.9l of fuel per 100 km in urban traffic.
Other measures increasing economy of operationA number of measures increasing the economy of operation include, in addition to other things, aerodynamic alterations to the body that, together with the aerodynamically covered and lowered chassis, lead to a lower air drag coefficient (cx), a brake energy recuperation system, cruise control and, last but not least, the use of tyres with low rolling resistance.
